Well the West/Atlanta Spark Rally has come and gone. I enjoyed working with  Marilyn (MRSWIGGLY6) in getting the event organized and being a hostess.

We met on April 11^th to get the goodie bags filled and bag all the raffle and door prizes.

We decided the week before the rally to get some gifts for the children who going to attend. Each child pulled a plastic egg filled with candy and some of the eggs included a ticket for a door prize. As it turned out we didn’t have that many children attending so in the end each child received a door prize.

People started arriving around 10AM. We had them sign in, collect their goodie bag and put their name tag on. We had the ladder golf game set up and some of the people decided to practice as we had planned to have a ladder golf tournament; however the people from LA Fitness arrived late and that didn’t leave enough time for the tournament however a few of the children and MRSWIGGLY got out there to play a game. It was great to put a face to the names of the people we post with on SPARKPEOPLE. We gave each other tips on what was working for us as well as what some of our downfalls were. We continued to socialize through lunch and one of the park rangers came and spoke about the various trails at the Sweetwater Creek State Park. Then on to handing out the raffle prizes (Lucky Brenda Yarbrough won 4 prizes) some of the people decided to hike those trails. Everyone seemed to have a good time.

On Sunday I wrote a note on the Sparkpages of those who gave us their Sparkname; thanking them for attending the rally. Below are some of the comments I received back.

BEMORE73: Jan it was really nice to meet you as well. I had a great time at the rally and so did my GFs. We walked the yellow trail for the first time and made a pact to visit different trails in GA for adventure. As my active life comes into play, I spend less time on Spark as before. I make it a habit to log in everyday and try to see how my friends and teams are doing. Hope to see you again but until then have a great one.

HONDA2002: Hi Jan, it was nice to meet you too. I had a great time at the rally on Saturday. I look forward to more rallies to come. My daughter enjoyed it too. We did the yellow trail and it give us a chance to bond and help each other to endure the trail. I also want to thank BMORE73 for the encouragement to do the trail. We made a pact to do more outdoor activities to get fit.

Now the only thing left to do is write the Thank You notes to our sponsors. I wanted to wait until all the pictures were posted on this website and people had a chance to leave a Blog.
